The NDIS provides transport funding for eligible participants who need assistance to access mainstream services or community activities. To be eligible for transport funding through the NDIS, participants must:
There is no specific list of transport services that cannot be funded through the NDIS. However, as a general rule, the NDIS will not fund transport services that are already provided by government agencies or other organisations. This includes public transport services such as buses and trains, as well as community transport services. Speak with our friendly team if you are unsure whether a particular transport service can be funded through the NDIS.
Level 1: The NDIS will provide up to $1,606 per year for participants who are not currently employed, enrolled in school or attending day programs. This financial support helps to enhance community access.
Level 2: The NDIS provides financial assistance of up to $2,472 per year for participants who are currently employed or studying part-time (up to 15 hours per week), enrolled in day programs or participate in other leisure or social activities.
Level 3: For NDIS participants who are currently employed, looking for work or studying at least 15 hours per week, the NDIS will provide up to $3,456 per year to help cover the costs of transportation that are necessary due to their disability.
